We met and were extremely impressed with Craig Moffat who shared our vision and offered some excellent advice on how to achieve the best result.

Craig found a way to ensure that the renovation we undertook would result in a seamless, unbroken eye line across the entire ceiling area so that it became impossible to tell where the older sections finished and the new ones began, which is the absolute key to good building renovation.

We discovered during that building process that Craig’s thoughts on how things should be done were very much aligned with ours and the resulting renovation not only looks great but has been a pleasure to live in since.

Moffat Builders won our job through competitive tender and our confidence in Craig Moffat was impressed on the first day of the build when he drew our attention to a significant issue on site. After 10 minutes of inspection and discussion, we committed to a significant change in design. Whilst not inexpensive, this was a change for which we have no regrets. Our collective roles changed early into the job with the departure of our architect. Thereafter our working interrelationship increased substantially.

Prominent throughout the job was Craig clearly focussing on the delivery of a quality home to both his own high standards and, importantly, to our satisfaction. He offered valuable suggestions when needed and promptly dealt with issues that inevitably arise in a constructive and consultative manner. Craig employs a small quality team and in additional from managing the build, was himself routinely on the tools. Craig used local trades matching his high expectations, also worked effectively and efficiently with our consultants and selected tradespeople, all of whom have commented on Craig’s workmanship, communications and management.

The net effect is that our home was built to a very high standard, perhaps not exactly according to the original plan, but nevertheless reflecting the dynamics of large build and associated works extending over the best part of 18 months. The house is our design, but scattered around are things, some big, some small, that we will always recall as Craig’s suggestions.
